The European Environment Agency (EEA) is an agency of the European Union, whose task is to provide sound, independent information on the environment. The EEA aims to support sustainable development by helping to achieve significant and measurable improvement in Europe's environment, through the provision of timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policymaking agents and the public. The European environment information and observation network (Eionet) is a partnership network of the EEA and its member and cooperating countries. Through Eionet, the EEA brings together environmental information from individual countries concentrating on the delivery of timely, nationally validated, high-quality data. This knowledge is made widely available through the EEA website and forms the basis of both thematic and integrated environmental assessments. This information serves to support environmental management processes, environmental policymaking and assessment, as well as citizen participation. - European Environment Agency Data centre: Water and Marine EnvironmentThe Water Data Centre provides the European entry point for water related data as part of the Water Information System for Europe (WISE). Data covers the following broad (non-exhaustive) themes: Water quality and contamination including surface and groundwater resource contamination with Nitrate, Phosphorous etc. Waterbase Water Quality database. Water treatment and investment water biodiversity marine environmental condition Runoff trends (including minimum flow return period analysis) Drought frequency and extent flood risk and extent including climate change impact Freshwater abstraction by source Water use by sector Economic value added and water extraction Water scarcity exposure water intensity water accounting by river basin Water and food-borne diseases water and crop production and irrigation, including land area water abstraction in candidate countries Water Statistics (Eurostat) Europe water asset accounts1Licence not specifiedover 1 year ago
- Waterbase - Water QualityWaterbase is the generic name given to the EEA's databases on the status and quality of Europe's rivers, lakes, groundwater bodies and transitional, coastal and marine waters, on the quantity of Europe's water resources, and on the emissions to surface waters from point and diffuse sources of pollution. The dataset contains time series of nutrients, organic matter, hazardous substances and other chemicals in rivers, lakes and groundwater, as well as data on biological quality elements (BQEs) such as phytobenthos and macroinvertebrates in rivers and lakes. A list of monitoring site identifiers with selected attributes, reported through WFD and WISE Spatial data reporting, is added to dataset as spatial reference. The data has been compiled and processed by EEA. Please refer to the metadata for additional information.1Licence not specifiedover 1 year ago
