EAGLE-I, an interactive geographic information system (GIS) that allows users to view and map the nation's energy infrastructure and obtain near real-time informational updates concerning the electric, petroleum and natural gas sectors within one visualization platform.
The US Energy Information Administration is committed to making its data available through an Application Programming Interface (API) to better serve our customers. APIs allows computers to more easily access our public data. By making EIA data available is this machine readable format, the creativity in the private, the non-profit, and the public sectors can be harnessed to find new ways to analyze and create added-value services powered by public data. On September 21, 2012, EIA's API was released as a beta product with the initial 408,000 electricity series. On Jan 24, 2013 the entire State Energy Data System was added, comprised of over 30,000 additional time-series. On August 23, 126,000 petroleum and natural gas series were added. As we add EIA's coal and Annual Energy Outlook data over the coming months, a significant portion of EIA's data will become available through this interface. The EIA API is offered as a free public service, although registration is required. The registration and compliance with the API Terms of Service will allow EIA to monitor usage and ensure service availability. The Emissions & Generation Resource Integrated Database (eGRID) is a comprehensive source of data on characteristics of almost all electric power generated in the United States. This data includes capacity; heat input; net generation; associated air emissions of nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide and mercury; emissions rates; resource mix (i.e., generation by fuel type); nonbaseload calculations; line losses (a.k.a., grid gross loss); and many other attributes. The data is provided at the unit and generator levels, as well as, aggregated to the plant, state, balancing authority, eGRID subregion, NERC region, and US levels. As of January 2023, the available editions of eGRID contain data for years 2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2005, 2004, and 1996 through 2000.

Over many years, a coding scheme has been developed, managed and maintained within ENTSO-E (under the Common Information Model Expert Group) to facilitate cross-border exchanges and to efficiently and reliably identify different objects and parties relating to the Internal Energy Market (IEM) and its operations. This is known as the Energy Identification Coding (EIC) scheme, approved by ENTSO-E for the harmonisation and implementation of standardised electronic data interchanges. The scheme is supported by a central issuing office (CIO – ENTSO-E’s Secretariat) and ENTSO-E-authorised local issuing offices (LIOs) across Europe. These LIOs are electricity and gas Transmission System Operators along with third party associations such as A&B, APCS, BDEW, DVGW, EFET and ENTSOG, which, in liaison with taxation offices also, are responsible for the EIC scheme operations.

The Galway Bay 1/4 scale wave energy test site is located 1.5km from Spiddal pier within inner Galway Bay on the west coast of Ireland. Data has been collected in Galway Bay since 2008. Data is collected from current meter sensors, wave device sensors and water temperature sensors. Data has been collected to support ocean energy research technological innovation and development. Data has been collected by the Marine Institute in association with SmartBay Ireland. Data has been incomplete given periods of outage of wave energy sensors. Data has been complete and quality controlled for period devices are observing and measuring in the marine environment.

The monthly survey Form EIA-860M, ‘Monthly Update to Annual Electric Generator Report’ supplements the annual survey form EIA-860 data with monthly information that monitors the current status of existing and proposed generating units at electric power plants with 1 megawatt or greater of combined nameplate capacity. EIA estimates the current and near-term unit inventory of electric power generating capacity by integrating the information on these surveys along with ongoing EIA research of new units. However, creating this monthly estimate sometimes requires the use of data submitted on the annual EIA-860 before it has been fully verified by EIA. For this reason, reported capacities are EIA’s preliminary estimates of capacity for that month. Estimates will be corrected without specific acknowledgement or explanation in subsequent month’s inventory. Capacities reported in this preliminary inventory are best estimates of current generating capacity, but are not meant to be capacity commitments by the associated facilities. The Renewable Energy Planning Database (REPD) tracks the progress of UK renewable electricity projects over 150kW through the planning system. It provides as accurate and comprehensive a snapshot as possible of projects, and of progress across the technology sectors, through the following stages: inception planning construction operation decommissioning The database is updated during the month following the end of each quarter. Please note: the minimum threshold for installed capacity was 1MW until 2021, at which point it was lowered to 150kW. This means that projects below 1MW that were going through planning system before 2021 may not be represented in the REPD.

NERL (NATS En-Route PLC) employs advanced analysis tools and industry best practices to assess the impact of wind turbines on air traffic service electronic infrastructure. While not exhaustive, maps provide insight into potential interference areas. Consultation zones for 54 AGA communication stations, 55 navigation aids, and 20 radar sites are defined. Line-of-sight assessments are detailed for turbines of varying heights. Conflicting statements may arise from shared radar coverage between NATS and airports. Maps aid applicants in evaluating the impact on NERL infrastructure, excluding airports, which requires consultation with respective airports. The maps are available to download as either Google layers (kmz) files, or shp files, both file types are zipped. The kmz files can easily be visualised using Google Earth, while shp files can be imported into any GIS software package.
