Data generated from the Alum Innovative Exploration Project, one of several promising geothermal properties located in the middle to upper Miocene (~11-5 Ma, or million years BP) Silver Peak-Lone Mountain metamorphic core complex (SPCC) of the Walker Lane structural belt in Esmeralda County, west-central Nevada. The geothermal system at Alum is wholly concealed; its upper reaches discovered in the late 1970s during a regional thermal-gradient drilling campaign. The prospect boasts several shallow thermal-gradient (TG) boreholes with TG >75oC/km (and as high as 440oC/km) over 200-m intervals in the depth range 0-600 m. Possibly boiling water encountered at 239 m depth in one of these boreholes returned chemical- geothermometry values in the range 150-230oC. GeothermEx (2008) has estimated the electrical- generation capacity of the current Alum leasehold at 33 megawatts for 20 years; and the corresponding value for the broader thermal anomaly extending beyond the property at 73 megawatts for the same duration.

Each time a rain, hail or snow storm passes, volunteers take measurements of precipitation from as many locations as possible. These precipitation reports are then recorded on our Web site www.cocorahs.org. The data are then displayed and organized for many of our end users to analyze and apply to daily situations ranging from water resource analysis and severe storm warnings to neighbors comparing how much rain fell in their backyards.

This ecoregion framework is derived from Omernik (1987) and from mapping done in collaboration with EPA regional offices, other Federal agencies, state resource management agencies, and neighboring North American countries. Designed to serve as a spatial framework for the research, assessment, and monitoring of ecosystems and ecosystem components, ecoregions denote areas of similarity in the mosaic of biotic, abiotic, terrestrial, and aquatic ecosystem components with humans being considered as part of the biota. These regions are critical for structuring and implementing ecosystem management strategies across Federal agencies, state agencies, and nongovernmental organizations that are responsible for different types of resources within the same geographic areas. Frontier and Remote Area (FAR) codes provide a statistically-based, nationally-consistent, and adjustable definition of territory in the U.S. characterized by low population density and high geographic remoteness. To assist in providing policy-relevant information about conditions in sparsely settled, remote areas of the U.S. to public officials, researchers, and the general public, ERS has developed ZIP-code-level frontier and remote (FAR) area codes. The aim is not to provide a single definition. Instead, it is to meet the demand for a delineation that is both geographically detailed and adjustable within reasonable ranges, in order to be usefully applied in diverse research and policy contexts. This initial set, based on urban-rural data from the 2000 decennial census, provides four separate FAR definition levels, ranging from one that is relatively inclusive (18 million FAR residents) to one that is more restrictive (4.8 million FAR residents).

This dataset provides WCAG 2.0 compliant wayfinding maps for 13 Metro Stations along the Metro North West Line, including 8 new metro stations and 5 upgraded stations. Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains, which can quickly take you between stations operating every 4 minutes in peak times. Each map displays the transport connections, customer assistance available, facilities available, tap on / tap off points, and lift / escalator locations. The line is being extended into the Sydney CBD and beyond, in 2024. **Note:** * 13 new WCAG 2.0 compliant wayfinding maps have been added for the Chatswood to Sydenham extension, including 6 new station & local area maps and 7 existing station & local area maps in July 2024. * The M1 route, Metro North West & Bankstown Line will commence operations August 2024.

This dataset contains maps depicting the local area around selected train stations, ferry wharves and lightrail stops. These maps are similar to the ones you might find at a station or stop. Files are in PDF format and grouped by mode.

Map layers associated with the Marcellus Shale in the interactive mapping system include various Onondaga map layers. This is confusing to many users--i.e., why don't we use maps showing the Marcellus structure? The answer is simple--because we don't yet have those specific map layers for the Marcellus Shale. In order to provide this geological information, we are using map layers created for adjacent stratigraphic units to provide approximately similar information as for the Marcellus. Structure Map Layers - The Onondaga Limestone and equivalent units underlie the Marcellus Shale. The top of the Onondaga Limestone and equivalents is approximately equal to the base of the Marcellus Shale. So, a map showing the structure on the top of the Onondaga Limestone provides essentially the same information as a structure map on the base of the Marcellus Shale.
