Overview

The World Risk Index indicates the risk of disasters from extreme natural events and the negative consequences of climate change for 193 countries around the world. It is calculated per country as the geometric mean of exposure and vulnerability. Exposure represents the vulnerability of the population to earthquakes, tsunamis, coastal and river floods, hurricanes, droughts and sea level rise.
